We receive many questions about whether camping equipment other than tents, folding trailers, and hammocks is permitted at Scoutinglandgoed.

The answer is no! Scoutinglandgoed Zeewolde does not have the facilities to provide proper service for motorhomes, caravans, and roof tents. For instance, we do not have a facility for emptying cassette toilets, nor do we have electricity, and there is no flat, firm ground.

Even more important is the fact that we are affiliated with the ‘Labelterreinen’ quality mark from Scouting Nederland. Part of that quality mark is that camping can be done in a simple manner as part of the Scouting program.

Another reason for sticking to the quality mark is that, upon the establishment of the site in 2015, we agreed with surrounding campsites that we would not compete with them.

The caravans you see on our site are used by our volunteers who (for various reasons) are often present for extended periods, thereby ensuring a degree of their privacy. There are also events on our grounds where we do permit the use of caravans, motorhomes, and roof tents; in such cases, additional rules of use are drawn up for the organizers. Even then, we do not provide facilities such as electricity and cassette toilet disposal. Any damage to the grounds is the full responsibility of the event.
