Of course you can also build a table fire on the estate (you can borrow pioneer wood for free from the service staff). You can also borrow a (mandatory) fuel barrel from the service staff. You can obtain fuel wood by wheelbarrow for a small fee. Gathering yourself is not allowed.
Be sure to check the camp rules regarding burning in advance and, in case of drought, ask the service staff whether a burning warning or ban applies.
Campfire pit
Would you like to use the campfire pit? You can! With your own group or together with other groups. Always cosy!
Campfire evenings
A nice drink, nice music and plenty of other scouts: in the high season the service staff regularly organizes campfire evenings in the large campfire pit. We will be happy to inform you about this upon arrival on site.
Barrels, ropes, pioneer wood and plenty of water on the doorstep. They are the ingredients for a group activity. You can borrow all materials for free from the service staff at the Scouting estate, you only need to bring your own rope. Do you want to be sure that the materials are available when you want to start building rafts?
Reserve the items you need in advance with the service staff. This can be done during your stay or in advance by email. Have fun on the water!
Scouting estate Zeewolde is also the place to stay for a day (during your camp) and do all kinds of fun small activities. We have materials to build rafts (bring your own rope), we have Live Stratego ready for you, you can do green activities but also play KUBB and what about big Mikado or Super Jenga.

Geocaching is an adventure game for GPS users. Participating in a treasure hunt, known as a 'cache hunt', is a good way to get to know the benefits and wonderful possibilities of a GPS. The basic idea is that people and organizations hide caches all over the world and share the locations of these caches by reporting their exact position on the Internet. Other GPS users use these coordinates to find these caches. Once the cache has been found, the cache, or treasure, reveals its secrets. Two caches are hidden on the Scouting estate. Use your own GPS.
Scouting estate 'The Traditional' (GC6311Y)
A traditional cache on the Scouting estate. Stay on roads and paths, the cache is right next to the path. You can find the cache on this page.
Scouting estate 'The Multi' (GC6310F)
This short multi runs through Scouting Estate Zeewolde. Remember the values found, you need some of them to calculate the final location.
Starting point (N52°17.096 E005°31.532). Here you will find a number of trees with signs in front of them, these signs contain the information you need to calculate WP 2. Find the entire cache on this page.

Sustainability and Scouting go hand in hand. That is why the Scouting estate is also a sustainable site. You can see this everywhere on the estate. Campers can use free bicycles at the Zeewolde Scouting Estate, the site is designed in such a way that biodiversity is stimulated, but the buildings are also built from sustainable materials from the local Staatsbosbeheer. A gray water circuit is used, waste is separated and green energy is purchased. All so that nature has plenty of room to flourish.
Scouts learn at a very young age how important nature is
SCENES
Since the summer of 2018, Scouting Estate Zeewolde has officially become a member of the SCENES network. SCENES stands for Scout Centre of Excellence for Nature and Environment. There are three global conditions that must be met to be a member of the SCENES network. The Scouting centre must be natural, offer nature and environmental education and the environment must be taken into account as much as possible.
34 Scouting centres worldwide are affiliated with this network of sustainable Scouting centres. A SCENES site has committed itself to protecting the environment and also creating more understanding for the environment. The purpose of this network is to make Scouts (and non-Scouts) aware of the importance of nature and the environment, to keep the impact on the environment as small as possible and to protect the natural environment. More information about SCENES can be found on the SCENES website.
Would you like to get started with sustainability during your visit to Scouting Estate Zeewolde? Perhaps the World Scout Environment Program would be a nice part of the programme. Ask the Service Staff!
The Adventure House
The Adventure House was completed in 2020. The aim is to make this one of the most sustainable Scouting buildings ever. How we are going to do this can be read on the Adventure house page.
Faunatower
A good example of a sustainable initiative on Scouting Estate Zeewolde is the Faunatower. An attractive habitat for birds, mammals and insects. The seven-meter-high tower was specially built to further promote biodiversity.
